Pyxis is a leader in automated robotic delivery systems for hospitals. BEST engineering analyzed and redesigned a shock absorber that had to provide exact traction loading for the robot's drive wheels. For the redesign, BEST custom designed a spring which allowed the part to be shortened and simplified. The materials were changed reducing weight and cost. Special coatings were used to improve wear resistance and decrease friction and noise. The new part is lighter, smaller and less expensive than the part it replaced. The BEST shock is currently in PYXIS robots in hospitals.

early in the design phase to ensure that there would be no disappointed fishermen whose big fish got away!

Boman Tool is a quality machining house that provides just in time consumable parts for high volume assembly machines. BEST worked with BOMAN to analyze the lead times and the manufacturing processes of their parts. The lead time of a critical long lead part was reduced from 7 weeks to 3 weeks. This improved their ability to deliver quickly (increasing customer satisfaction) and reduced the amount of inventory that they had to maintain.
Fiber Optic Company
BEST custom designed and fabricated a machine for increasing the production capabilities for manufacturing of fiberoptic
devices. The machine was designed, built, delivered and setup at the customers facility.
